Marketing Tips For Your Local Business

Marketing Tips For Your Local Business

So I thought of addressing this after I spoke with a business owner over the weekend. There are many local businesses these days, a good percentage of them do not have websites. But many of the local business owners who do have websites, face some common problems.  The most common issue I found is many business owners have difficulties in getting new clients/customers.

If you are a local business owner (someone who owns hair salon, local plumbing, dentist, etc…). I am going to give you some tips to get more visitors for your local business website. One of the best things you can do right now to get some organic traffic to your website, is by submitting your website to local directory listings like Google+ Local/Google Businesses, Yellow Pages, Angie’s List, Yelp, etc. As simple as it sounds, this is something that many business owners do not do. The internet can work as a huge marketplace. When you have your company, your name and contact number listed, local people will take notice of your presence, and spread the words for good services or good experiences they have with you. This is a big plus for you and your business.

Getting your website listed with these directory listings can take some time, but this is something that is worth doing for long time exposure. If you do not have yet a mobile compatible website, you may want to consider getting one done. Studies have shown that there are more people with mobile phones than laptops/PCs. More people turn to their mobile phones while on the go, to search for local businesses and information in their local area. If you already have a mobile website, make sure you list your mobile URL so that people can access your mobile version website from their mobile phones.

Researchers found that users are more interested in businesses that have current customer reviews, pictures, and addresses complete with maps. So take some time to create a business profile on these business directories to bring more customers for your business.

These are some tips for getting visitors to your local business website. Of course, there are other ways to retain existing customers and get new customers, for example create a Facebook fan page, engage your customers. Utilize social media as part of your ongoing online campaigns.
